Submit to The Glass Coin

The eZine

The Glass Coin is a weekly eZine of short works. We accept fiction, essays, prose, poetry, articles, visual art, photography, videos, audio tracks, and any expression.

We accept multiple and simultaneous submissions as well as reprints, just please let us know where else your work has appeared or is being considered.

As we are a non-paying market, all rights to published work remain with the author/artist.

We are open to all themes, genres, opinions and ideas so long as they don’t attack any group of people or religion. You can share your view, even if it opposes another, but please be respectful. This is a youth friendly site, so please keep it PG13.

Send your flash fiction, prose, poems art, video or audio files to flip@theglasscoin.com

Fiction, prose, essays, and articles

Submit your flash fiction, prose, essays, or articles that are less than 1000 words in length. Science fiction, fantasy, horror, opinion pieces, hard boiled crime stories, creative non-fiction, and anything else you can think of. We are open to all styles and genres, just remember to keep it respectful.

Poetry

Keep your poems under 40 lines. Style and form aren’t as important as content. Keep it simple; while metaphors and rhymes can be poetic, we prefer plain, straightforward poems we can relate to. Make us think, make us feel, but don’t make us dig through symbolism to find the point.

Art and Photography

Images should be 630 pixels wide, “shows” will consist of 1-6 images. If there is a theme or idea behind the images or a title you would like include please include that in your submission.

Spoken word, short film, and audio tracks

Send links to your YouTube post or a file small enough to fit in an email. Video and audio tracks should be up to five minutes in length.

Once your work is accepted

When you are published we will also create a profile page that includes your bio, photo and website or link. We also promote all our writers and artists through Facebook and Twitter.

Track your submissions at Duotrope's Digest

Editing Services

Aside from editing The Glass Coin, Editor-in-chief Jo McClelland works helping authors and poets perfect their manuscripts for print. Currently she is completing a poetry book and accompanying CD for a national competing, spoken word artist and is in the early stages of editing two novels.

One author had this to say:

Jo McClelland “has been a pleasure to work with over the past five months.  She has helped me realize the full potential of the story I wanted to tell. She is very well-organized and has an innate understanding of how to efficiently manage her time. She improved my writing ten-fold without overpowering my voice. I look forward to working with her again.”

All editing services for the eZine are offered for free. For all other projects, editing fees are negotiable based on the size of project.

I was wondering how to register for The Glass Coin. I see a place to “log in” but no a place to register and am interested in submitting something for consideration for publication but was wondering if I perhaps might register first. Please answer by email at your convenience.
